trituradora de cuatro ejes

The pre-sorted material to be chopped is fed into two axes whose rotors move slowly in opposite directions (thus free of dust and noise). The blade inserts are mounted on the shaft. This process is controlled by intelligent and innovative PLC. If the machine is overloaded or there is a foreign object in the cutting device, the rotor stops and moves backwards (returning overload behavior and running in reverse). Precise serrated fixed blades ensure the material is pulverized with minimal power. Our knives are designed to help avoid multiple winding and lifting of materials to be chopped.

FOUR SHAFT SHREDDER MACHINE Working principle

The working principle of a four-shaft shredder is based on the interaction of four rotating shafts equipped with sharp blades to efficiently shred and reduce various materials into smaller pieces. The four shaft shredder’s operation can be summarized in the following steps:

  • Material Feeding: The process begins by feeding the material into the shredder through a hopper. The material can be solid waste, industrial scrap, plastic, wood, rubber, electronic waste, or any other material that needs to be reduced in size.
  • Cutting and Shredding: As the material enters the shredder, the four rotating shafts with sharp blades start to interact with it. The blades on each shaft interlock with each other and create a scissor-like cutting action. This ensures that the material is effectively torn apart from multiple angles.
  • Friction and Crushing: The rotating blades generate a significant amount of friction, which, combined with the cutting action, crushes the material into smaller pieces. The four shafts work in tandem to break down the material into consistent and uniform particle sizes.

Four Shaft shredder Buying Guide

Four-shaft shredders are engineered for high-performance size reduction of bulky plastics:
High Throughput with Energy Efficiency: Four-shaft machines achieve high throughput while consuming relatively low power (Robust four-shaft shredders for industrial applications). The multi-shaft action means more material is engaged by cutting teeth at once, improving efficiency.
Self-Feeding Design: The vertical feed gravity-loads material into the cutting chamber, often eliminating the need for a hydraulic ram. This self-feeding action simplifies operation and reduces maintenance compared to pusher-equipped units (Robust four-shaft shredders for industrial applications).
Rugged Construction: These are very heavy-duty machines with robust gearboxes and high-horsepower motors. The integrated gearboxes and shafts are designed to withstand continuous operation and impact from hard objects. The robustness, durability and reliability of four-shaft shredders for demanding jobs (Robust four-shaft shredders for industrial applications).
Fine and Uniform Output: The use of a screen ensures the shredded plastic pieces are uniform in size. Because material passes through two stages of cutting, the four-shaft shredder can achieve finer granulation (e.g. <100 mm) without a secondary granulator (Robust four-shaft shredders for industrial applications).
Versatility: Four-shaft units can be configured (blade shapes, number of discs, screen size) for different requirements. They can run as standalone shredders or as part of multi-stage systems.

Hazardous Waste Management

Four-shaft shredders are often used for shredding hazardous waste materials, such as metal drums, Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs), and plastic barrels. Their ability to securely destroy these materials while controlling the particle size makes them ideal for this application.

Electronic Waste (E-Waste) Recycling

The recycling of electronic waste, including computers, monitors, and other electronic devices, is another common application for four-shaft shredders. They can efficiently reduce the size of these materials, facilitating the recovery of valuable metals and other components.

Bulk Waste Reduction

Items such as furniture, large plastic pieces, and other bulky waste can be effectively size-reduced using four-shaft shredders. This capability is particularly useful in waste management and recycling facilities to reduce the volume of waste for disposal or further processing.

Scrap Metal Processing

Four-shaft shredders are used in the processing of scrap metal, including aluminum and metal profiles, to reduce the size and prepare it for recycling. Their robust design allows them to handle the abrasive nature of metal waste.

Tire Recycling

Rubber tires, both from cars and trucks, can be processed using four-shaft shredders. The shredders reduce the tires into smaller pieces, making them easier to recycle or repurpose.

Production Waste Management

In manufacturing settings, four-shaft shredders can be used to manage production waste. This includes reducing the size of offcuts, defective products, and other waste materials for recycling or disposal.

Refuse Derived Fuel  (RDF) Production

Four-shaft shredders are suitable for producing Refuse Derived Fuel by shredding waste materials into a specific size for efficient combustion in energy recovery processes. Their ability to produce a uniform medium particle size is crucial for this application.

Secure Destruction

For the secure destruction of confidential documents, hard drives, and other sensitive materials, four-shaft shredders offer a reliable solution. They ensure that the materials are thoroughly destroyed, preventing unauthorized access to information.

Efficient Crushing Capacity

The four-shaft shredder adopts a unique four-knife shaft structure and tooth shape. The lower two rotors are for main crushing, and the upper two rotors are for auxiliary crushing and material grabbing. This design reduces ineffective grabbing, reversal and idling time, thereby providing a powerful crushing capacity that can handle a variety of materials quickly and effectively.

Large Processing Capacity

Due to its large feed opening and well-designed crushing chamber, the four-shaft shredder can handle large-sized materials and achieve continuous and stable crushing operations.

Four-shaft shredders are equipped with a screen at the bottom of the shredding chamber that circulates the material until it reaches the desired particle size.

Integration With Ancillary Equipment

One of the notable advantages of industrial four-shaft shredders is their compatibility with various auxiliary equipment, allowing for a more integrated and efficient waste processing system.

Conveyor Belts

Integration with conveyor belts facilitates the automated feeding of materials into the shredder, streamlining the overall waste processing workflow.

Conveyor systems can be designed to handle different types and sizes of materials, ensuring a continuous and uniform feed for optimal shredding efficiency.

Double shaft shredding machine

Magnetic Separators

In applications where the shredded material contains metal components, magnetic separators can be integrated downstream of the shredder.

Magnetic Separator
These separators help extract ferrous metals from the shredded material, enhancing the purity of the end product and preventing damage to downstream equipment.

Screening Equipment

Shredded materials often need to be classified based on size. Integrated screening equipment can separate the shredded output into different fractions.

This allows for the customization of the final product, ensuring that it meets specific size or quality requirements for further processing or recycling.

Bale Presses Or Compactors

In scenarios where compressed or compacted waste is required, four-shaft shredders can be integrated with bale presses or compactors.

Horizontal Hydraulic BalerThis integration enables the direct processing of shredded material into compacted forms suitable for storage, transport, or further processing.

Material Handling Equipment

Depending on the specific industry and application, additional material handling equipment, such as forklifts or robotic arms, can be integrated to streamline the movement of materials within the processing facility.

An industrial four-shaft shredder should be chosen over a double-shaft or single-shaft shredder when specific output dimensions and fine control of granularity are required and the input material is large.

Four-shaft shredders are equipped with a screen at the bottom of the shredding chamber that circulates the material until it reaches the desired particle size. This feature is particularly important when the shredded material needs to meet certain size specifications for further processing or disposal, including the production of plastic pellets from recycled plastic, and the production of alternative fuels such as RDF (refuse-derived fuel) from shredded waste.

Although the output particles of the four-shaft shredder and the single-shaft shredder are both more uniform and finer than the two-shaft shredder, the existence of the four shafts of the four-shaft shredder makes it better than the single-shaft shredder. Shred objects, which is good for crushing large, bulky or hard materials. Therefore, if the material to be shredded is large and bulky, or if the particle size needs to be uniform but a single-rotor shredder cannot handle the material, a four-shaft shredder with a grid is more suitable.
